Selecting the Right Fish for your Aquarium
Fish are great as pets, provided you understand how to take care of them. Aquariums are great places to look at in your house. But there are those who believe that aquariums are hard to maintain. Should you manage that task, you shall find them to be great pets to have around. This calls for you to select fish that shall be easy to care for. You also need the peaceful breeds that can live among others well. Here are several of them which you shall also know how to feed.
Danios are small, active and colorful fish. These are commonly presented in red, yellow and green. You will see them as active but they are not aggressive and do well with other species. They prefer a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly, on the other hand, can survive in fresh, brackish or salt water. They are thus easier to care for. They are commonly seen as platinum colored, dusty gold or black. They prefer to eat flake and pellet foods, bloodworms and brine shrimp. They live well with other similar sized fish.
Platies are even more colorful, mostly in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. You can get more color blends after they have been bred. They are quiet and live well among other quiet fish. They are small, where the males are the smaller sized ones. They do well in warmer water and eat flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
You will find Betta fish in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They prefer warmer water that it changed frequently.
Neon Tetra come with silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They are also social with other species.
Guppies are the most playful of them all, and love to breed. You shall soon have lots of guppies in your aquarium. Their females may grow to be two times the size of the males. The males are however the brighter colored ones.
You shall tell a Rainbow fish by the way there are colored. They also grow more colorful once they settle in their new aquarium. They will also not be so active and prefer the company of less active fish as well.
Glofish are like Danios, save for their neon shine. They are also less active fish.
These are some of the fish that shall give you a great looking aquarium, with minimal maintenance work. They are also able to live amongst each other, meaning you can keep them all together for a better display.
